Hi, I’m Claire!

I’m an MFA candidate in Visual Communication Design and a design instructor at Purdue University. In my work, I explore the ideas of multilingualism and multiculturalism—especially how power structures of language are conveyed or challenged through design choices. I tend to use lots of typography (in various alphabets), bright colors, and geometric shapes.

Recently, I’ve also been investigating how graphic design can apply to space and place. In my latest projects I’ve designed interior graphics that are responsive to their physical surroundings. These go way beyond a mural—they can be dimensional, multisensory, and interactive!

In my free time, I love reviewing movies on Letterboxd, starting new knitting projects, and sitting in a park with my friends.

My past lives include being a business strategy consultant in NYC and a Linguistics student at Brown University—all things that inform my design work today!
