Purdue ‘P’ Motion Design
Motion design assignment for Purdue’s Rueff School
Any Boilermaker would recognize Purdue University’s iconic ‘P’ logo—making it the perfect subject for a motion design that promotes Purdue’s Rueff School of Art, Design, and Performance.
This project was completed as an assignment for a graduate-level Motion Design course at Purdue.
My intention is to showcase the boundless, exciting creativity that exists within the Rueff School—to bring this idea to life, I use lots of collage effects, motions that bounce along to a catchy soundtrack, and a variety of movements, big and small!
Process
The motion design is all my own After Effects work, but the assets were made in collaboration with my classmates. Each week, we were tasked with making two new versions of the Purdue P.
This was a great opportunity to explore different mediums. I found that my physical creations were much more captivating than my digital ones, so I explored plenty of unusual physical mediums like eggshells, stickers, and dragging paint across a page.
